SERDANG, Feb 19 – Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari held the Jelajah Maju Programme with Selangor Dato' Menteri Besar in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to build a collaborative network between public universities and the state government.
He hopes this programme will bring benefits in assisting and empowering people of Selangor from the aspects of welfare, employability, leadership potential and involvement in voluntary activities.
"The initiative of the state government in providing career guidance and information related to financial matters is an effort to show the commitment of the state government towards education," he said.
Amirudin was a UPM alumnus from the class of 2003 and a debater from the first University Debate Team from 2000 to 2002.
The UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dato' Dr. Aini Ideris said that as a public university in Selangor, UPM supports the state government efforts for improvement and development in making progress in the field of education.
"UPM always appreciates the collaborative effort with the Selangor state government and hopes to move forward together, especially in the direction of education," she said. - UPM
