MANAGEMENT OF SPONSORSHIPS AND FUNDING

Divison of Endowment, Donation and In-Kind was established in January 2025 to facilitate the management of endowments at UPM. Additionally, this division also helps streamline procedures and compliance for donations and in-kinds.

 

Function of the division;

Fundraising

• Assisting PTJs (responsible units) in planning strategies and implementing fundraising initiatives through donations, endowments, and in-kind contributions.
• Collaborating with PTJs to identify unique services and products offered by the university and mapping them to relevant industries.
• Providing advisory services and support to PTJs in approaching potential donors.

 

Project Management

• Collaborating with PTJs to plan university projects utilizing endowments, donations, and in-kinds in alignment with the objectives of the university and authorities.
• Monitoring and evaluating university projects funded through endowments, donations, and in-kinds.
• Coordinating reporting on university projects funded by endowments, donations, and in-kinds.

 

Compliance

• Managing documentation and reporting in accordance with compliance under Subsection 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967.
• Ensuring that the distribution and projects funded through endowments, donations, and in-kinds align with the objectives of donors, the university, and authorities.
• Providing advisory services and support to PTJs regarding legal compliance requirements related to public funds, endowments, donations, and in-kinds.
